Feedback Thoughts

Feedback is so crucial to a person's development. By receiving feedback, I am able to learn from my mistakes or take an idea even further. Two articles that I read in relation to success and failure were 6 Mental Habits That Sabotage Your Success and 8 Things to Do When You Make a Mistake. 6 habits that hinder success include listening to your own self-doubt or trying to seek approval from others. In short, the article says that you should try to be open with yourself and allow yourself to fail. Others and your own self can stop you from even trying.  The second article address the issue of what happens when you fail. The main idea was that people make mistakes. It is a normal occurrence. Once you fail, you just need to be open to fixing the problem to become better (a.k.a. listen to feedback). Honestly, I love hearing feedback if I am wrong. That is the only way that I can change. In the past, I have always been given feedback and I am a very blunt person. So, I am not hurt if the feedback happens to be negative. As the semester progresses, I hope that my writing will be able to improve as much as possible.

  1. I really liked the image you posted with this; Toy Story was one of my favorite movies as a kid. Listening to your own self doubt is something that I believe most, if not all, people struggle with at times. Big decisions about the future will certianly cause at least some second thoughts, if not self-doubt in almost everyone. Addressing what happens when you fail is often important. IF you view failure as an opportunity to learn and grow, then I believe you are far more liekly to succeed in thefuture. Whereas seeing nothing to gain from a failure will surely lead to more failure.
