Chapter 4.1 Durga's Secret and Chapter 4.2
-"Everyone lives in Fear"
-Offerings
-More than standard offerings, i.e. pieces of cloth
-Keep the goddess covered
-Dignity and nature
-Shiva is to domesticate nature
-Kanya has to marry at sunrise to ensure a happy marriage
-Shiva cannot make it and the sun rises
-She washes her cosmetics away in the sea (that is why there are so many colors in the water)
-The goddess is a family member, where god is everyone
-Everything comes back, everything ends (it is a cycle)
-"what is ego?" --- aham
-Aham is how humans understand themselves


These videos dived in more depth about Indian mythology and older stories outside of the epics. It was interesting to see the reason for the main river to be multi-colored and that it had a backstory to it.

I am currently a senior at the University of Oklahoma majoring in International Studies with 3 minors.   Throughout my time at OU, I have had the opportunity to study abroad 2 times. I chose to go to Seoul, South Korea each time. I started learning Korean at a young age, so I was able to adjust to Korean life very fast. During my stay there, I was not only a student, but I also worked at an NGO in marketing to help with North Korean defectors. This experience for me really changed my point of view because I was able to learn about other cultures while learning more about myself.    As soon as I turned 18, I did not know what to do with my life, I always followed what my friends were doing. Week 2 Story: Always the Villain

This pond was special because there was an abundance of fish and wildlife. Among the wildlife, there was a crane. This crane was no ordinary crane, he was lonelier than the rest. Day by day, he would befriend the fish in the pond because of his lack of crane friends. Crane: "Hey guys! How are you today?" The Fish (in unison): "Hey crane! We are good. Do you want to play with us today?" In response, the Crane agreed. He just wanted to have some friends. Being a crane is a lonely life. As time passed, he grew hungry from playing in the water.
