Reading Notes: Ramayana Part B
My Top 3 Readings from Part B from the Public Domain Edition of Ramayana:
1. Rama and Bharata
-They are brothers
-Rama is sent to the jungle
-Bharata's mother sent Rama away
-"A man enters the world alone and departs alone"
-"We only have one life to live"
-Jabali tries to get Rama to turn
This is a hard time for Rama because his family is not accepting of him. Although the king and his brothers are on his side, he still goes to the Jungle.

2. Battle with Khara
-They are going to battle
-Rama just wanted to protect Sita
-Rama goes to battle the demons
-Lakshamana is Rama's brother
-Rama defeats Khara
-Rama reunties with Sita
There is no enemy great enough for Rama. He was able to defeat Khara with ease. This story is a good battle scene in the epic. This is a good snapshot of when Rama is willing to risk his life to be the hero. Rama has always stood out from the crowd.

3. Rama and Jatayu
-Sita has died
-Rama "wept" for her
-He began a search for her
-Rama loves her dearly
-Rama was "greif-distracted"
-He does not know what to do about her absence
This is a hard moment for Rama. You can feel his pain without Sita throughout it all. It is a time when Rama is going to have to ajust to being alone. Although his brother was there for him, he could not stand not knowing where Sita is. Out of the three readings, I enjoyed this one the most. Every great leader has a backstory and this even would be good to relfect on in my own story.
